Hairspray

I need to admit something.  I love musicals.  I have for a long time.  Back in the day I was in the Clements High School production of Funny Girl, but my most challenging and fulfilling role was when I played this guy!

I know, go ahead and take away my man card.  Remove Wild at Heart from my bookcase.  You can even tell Driscoll on me.  I don’t care.

Date night was tonight and we ate a good dinner and then saw the movie, Hairspray.  Great cast, hooky music, and that High School Musical guy did a good job.  You have to love any movie where John Travolta and Christopher Walken are a married couple.

So, pick up that stone and get ready to toss it may way BUT remember that I can quote most sports stats from 1985 on while singing Les Miserables songs at the same time.  That has to count for something.

  1. wouldn’t have EVER pegged you for a musical guy. hyyysterical!! :)

  2. I’m so glad we raised you to be secure in your manhood! Dad actually chose to go see Hairspray with me and Jess while we were in Galveston and I think he enjoyed it. What’s not to enjoy!
I think I embarrassed them both because I kept singing and dancing in my seat.
    i love you,
    mom

  3. Clements High school …. I went to Elkins – cool!

  4. I am old because Elkins was not even around when I was in HS. In fact, Kempner wsa built my JR year.

  5. This former “Sandy” recently came out to her friends as a musical-lover. People treat me a little differently but watching Christopher Walken was worth it!

  6. Being able to do anything while singing all the lyrics to Les Mis definitely counts for something!!! Do you hear the people sing???
