DC in 63 Minutes

I don’t do any of the regular ‘tourist’ things in the cities I travel to.  I travel about 100 days a year so I try to get a later flight when I leave home and the first flight home the next morning.  But today I was in Washington D.C., a city I have never visited, and I had enough change to get me 63 minutes on the parking meter.  Here is what I captured with my Palm Treo phone:

I stopped by to see if I could get an advance on my tax refund but no such luck.

There was a rally in The Mall for the Ethiopian Human Rights Bill.  We are in the application process for an Ethiopian adoption so it was interesting to see and talk to those in the rally.

The 11 minutes I spent in the Natural History Museum was very interesting.

I almost ran into that car, and that’s why you should never take pictures with your cell phone while driving in rush hour traffic in one of the nation’s busiest cities.

The night ended with 7 kids getting sponsored at the Matthew Smith concert in Arnold, MD.  Matthew’s ministry is taking hymn lyrics and arranging them in contemporary music.  Matthew plays mostly Presbyterian and Reformed churches and does a great job with Compassion.
