Advent Conspiracy

Worship More, Spend Less, Give More, and Love All.

That is the focus of the Advent Conspiracy, a movement that my older brother Chris was involved in starting last year.  In 2006 just a handful of churches turned a conversation between pastors into over $500,000 for building wells to provide clean water in the third world.  if you are a pastor or have the ear of your pastor then go to the What is it? part of the site to find out how you can get involved.  The rumor is that over 1,000 churches are now on board for 2007!

Check out this video that was taken in a village in Nicaragua where they are having a party to celebrate a water well that was built with some of the money that was raised last Christmas:

  1. Hey Brian. Who knows if you even remember my (I was a measly college freshman when you and Don left Amarillo), but I remember you and your family. I’d like to say that it’s nice getting to see your family and see how things are going.

  2. Hey Brian,
Thanks for the info I am checking it out right now. I have plenty of free time on my hands and I am not affraid to approch people about things. I often talk to the other singles/young adults I know about compassion and I sponsor kids myself. I feel it is an easy way for my peers to help out and it only takes the sacrifice of a few(kind of sad but it is only a few) trips to Starbucks a month. Thanks again for bringing this movement to the attention of others.

  3. I sent this to Brandon Lackey (our pastor in Houston) and Fellowship of Memorial is officially signed up! Thanks for the link!
