Adoption Money

I have already laid out how much adoption cash we need to raise to complete our financial obligations for our adoption later this year. Here is the tentative plan for raising part of that money:

1) T Shirts - nothing earth shattering here – alot of people do this. The goal is to have these ready to sell in about a month and we will have a pay pal account set up here on the blog where you can place your order.

2) Concert – It helps to have musicians in the family and Robbie and Shaun have agreed to do a benefit concert in the Houston area this summer. We will sell tickets to raise the money and also raise awareness about adoption options for families.

3) Seaybay - We are going to try our hand at an online auction late this summer. The hope is to find businesses and organizations willing to donate some decent items for us to auction. If you have connection to companies that might do this (airlines, restaurants, computers, etc.) please email me at bseay@us.ci.org

4) Yard Sale – during the fall we will mobilize those who live near us to give us a hand in going offline to sell some things. This originally was not in the plans but too many people had great stories to tell about their own adoption yard sale.

  1. i am praying for you for this! can’t wait to spend some money.

  2. Sounds great. You should also come up with some kind of banner we can put on our blogs. I know Bush has done that with “Adopting August”. Praying for you guys!

  3. We will definitely be sporting the t-shirts! Also, let us know as soon as you have dates for the Houston concert…we’d love to be there!!!

  4. We are in. Let us know how we can help.

  5. Looking forward to helping out. Hopefully when you set up the PayPal thing for the t-shirts, there will be some sort of option there on the page to donate extra money. I’m thinking $50 or $100 for a shirt sounds like a pretty sweet deal, all things considered.

  6. Count me in too! I will check at work about donating for an auction as well.

  7. great ideas.

    good luck!

  8. Hey there — I linked into here sort of randomly, so I don’t know you or your situation at all. I was just going to say that last year after we lost a baby, my husband’s HR representative contacted us to let us in on a previously unknown company benefit. It seems my husband’s company will match dollar-for-dollar (up to a certain amount) towards all adoption expenses. At the time, it was insensitive information, but now, it’s good information to have.
