My Grandfather
I don’t have much time to type but I want to share an article from the Houston Chronicle about my Grandfather - we call him Poppa. Poppa has pastored for over 50 years in the Houston area and has been retired for much of the last 15 years. A year ago he was asked to be the Interim Pastor for a church that was about to close its doors for numerous reasons but primarily because it never changed with the community around it and was now left with just a handful of older members. Poppa has never been one to do anything quietly so he ignored the fact that he was just the “interim” Pastor of the church and forged ahead with a plan to save the church and connect to the community. The Houston Chronicle, one of the nation’s largest papers, is printing this story in the weekend edition. Way to go, Pop!

**Poppa’s the one on the right. And, my grandfather is over 6 feet tall to give you a frame of reference for the size of the other pastor.

I would have guessed the guy on the left was your grandfather…I mean…the resemblance is stunning!!
jk. That is awesome!
You joke, but I actually look alot like him. I mean, he’s a great looking man!
I love this pic! I love that Nonny and Poppa go to church there now! I want to, actually. Sounds awesome.

Brian and family, It is great to hear Bro. Bob from week to week. I try to get there a couple of times a month. It is almost like hearing him in the late 70’s and 80’s at Mangum Oaks. Of course, I hear him often on Sunday nights at Magnolia. He is like the Energizer Bunny that keeps on Ticking!!! He still brings God’s message in a fresh and unique way!
