Numbers Nerd

If you know me well (or maybe just read this blog on occasion) you know that I love numbers of any kind. I am addicted to statistics and always have been but most of my life it was relegated to realm of sports statistics. As a child I could tell you batting averages, jersey numbers, touchdowns, etc. without even really thinking about it. Think of me as Rainman without the Scientologist sidekick brother and the Don Johnson Miami Vice jacket. I have put this love for numbers to good use in my current job but my true outlet for my love of statistics is found in Fantasy Football. I know, I’m a loser and you are surprised my wife is so hot, smart, funny, and still married to me. But I love it and my Fantasy Football draft is tonight. I play in a league with buddies from college (we even have have a national NFL expert in our league) and tonight most of them will gather in a house somewhere in Dallas and the rest of us will sit glued to our computers so we can all create the winning team. Make fun of me if you wish but my analysis says that I still have a 57.3% chance of being cooler than you.

(FYI for all the other FF nerds – I have the 6th pick in a 12 team league. While that usually is a sure-fire RB selection (maybe Addai or S. Jackson) I might just take Peyton Manning in that spot. My sons concurred this morning on that strategy before they left for school)

**UPDATE – I ended up taking TOM BRADY with the #6 pick.  I did not think he would be available there so I had to take him.  I have not taken a QB in the 1st round in years so this should  be interesting for me.

  1. I’m playing in 5 leagues this year Brian and so far I’ve drafted in the middle of the pack in everyone. I hate picking 5 or 6! fortunately one of the leagues is a keeper league so I didn’t have to draft payton manning. I own him. and chad ocho cinqo
